Student Transportation
To prepare for the opening of our school in September 2010, we have several important updates about transportation changes that will be in place this fall. We are sending a letter with the information below to all residences in the area. The letter will include an application for yellow bus service.
Before reading the information below, download and find your home on this map.
For elementary students attending A. Blair McPherson School
If you live within the walk boundary (green area on the map):
Transportation will not be provided to students living in the school's neighbourhood walk boundary.
If you live outside the walk boundary but within the 2.4 km boundary (yellow areas on the map):
Service will be provided via fewer stops, located centrally within each of the designated attending neighbourhoods.
If you live outside the 2.4 km boundary (pink areas on the map):
Yellow bus service will be provided at fixed route stop locations.
For junior high students attending A. Blair McPherson School
Edmonton transit is the preferred means of transportation for Junior High students. During the 2010-2011 school year, yellow bus services will supplement where Edmonton transit is unavailable. View a transportation map for A. Blair McPherson junior high students.
For students living in the neighbourhood, but not attending A. Blair McPherson School
Students that continue to attend regular programs at their current school will not receive yellow bus service.
Student Transportation will continue to provide service for elementary students attending alternative programs, or District Centre special needs programs at schools outside of the new school attendance areas. Guidelines for service provision can be found at http://transportation.epsb.net or by calling Student Transportation at 780-429-8585.
Applying for elementary yellow bus service
Step 1: Submit an application for yellow bus service. Applications are being mailed to residences in the school boundaries. Kindergarten applications will be available shortly.
